ICT'S in schools
ICT's in schools are a part of a students life now and if we as educators ignore this, we will run into a continuous rut! 21st century skills have been bought into schools at a fast rate over the past 10 years, although to me, it feels like the last year as I have started studying secondary education.
Right now, I feel comfortable with implementing ICT's into classrooms, but after the first lecture of this unit, I feel probably the same as everyone else... scared, due to the fact of how much ICT technologies there is to offer and get the head around.
ICT in schools are essential for all students. It is clear in schools that, students and teachers consider ICT as a highly important tool when it comes to helping everyone involved learn. Teaching with ICT helps reduce the social disparities between pupils as they are to work in a collaborative setting in order to achieve success.
Nowadays we see students using Facebook, Instagram, Tik Tok and Snapchat, can teenagers use these safely? It is a teachers job not only to allow students to learn ICT's but also ensure they are using them in a safe manner.

Trent... thanks for your first post. Sorry I scared you in the first lecture!
ReplyDeleteI would love to know what has helped you to recognise the prevalence and importance of technology in our contemporary classrooms. What have you personally experienced? used? how prepared are you for this? what are you most comfortable with? what do you want to learn?
Also... Is there equity in technology accessibility? Are teachers using similar platforms? How are they prepared for this? etc.
